    Scam Alert

    John,

How did you pay for your SC membership?

    -Jeff

p.s. This topic should be moved to somewhere else. It doesn't belong in a Local Chapter sub-forum?

    When you gave your CC

When you gave your CC info did you give it via an email or did you mail the number in on the printed out form?

When I receive credit card information it is kept on digitally on a thumb drive that never sees the internet. When the treasurer receives your billing info it is a paper copy only and any copies are shredded.

I would tell anyone who uses their CC numbers on the net to exercise caution when doing so.

I will look into the matter with Bill as well.

Not sure if you heard about the huge CC fraud that visa just went through. Something like 80% of their customers were compromised. My entire household got their cards cancelled and re issued.

            A lot of personal data

A lot of personal data has been stolen/lost last year. several incidents
were reported. That data is useble for scams.

This topic has been left on the board as a general warning.
it is not likely the SC was directly a factor in this scam.

To ensure visibility it was moved to the general forum.
I have locked the topic, it is meant just as a warning.
