    Fred,

The September 2000 issue of the SCR (#42) has the article Ballast Tank Construction and the December 200 issue (#43, our first color cover! ) has the companion article How to Construct an R/C Pressure Hull ....both by Greg Sharpe.

The combination of the two will allow anyone with reasonable hobbyist skills to build their own dive module.

    Thank you Jeff

The "deepseadesigns.net" times out and gets a "server not found" message for me (4:30pm CDT). FWIW, try later.

I'm in the same boat. Retirement budget for toys is limited, skill tools and enthusiasm is good. But I've read enough on them to know that a WTC/SubDriver is not impossible to fabricate but that the Sea is a Harsh Mistress and there are probably a lot of little details that can kill you. So my plans are to buy a store-bought'n WTC so I'll have a working design to get up close and personal to study. As a long-time scratch-builder it is bothersome to buy anything "ARF" when it can be built, but sometimes...

            Fred,
Yes the SCR is the Subcommittee Report our club magazine. I see you just joined, welcome aboard! You should be getting this years issues of the SCR some time soon. In the back you will see a page that will tell you how to order back issues. If you don't already know this the SCR comes out once a quarter. I hope this helps. I like your signature by the way.
