    New Subron

After speaking to a few of the members at the Regatta over the past weekend and looking thru the the latest directory I was thinking that if anybody that might be interested we might be able to start a new Subron in the tri-state area of Western Pa.,Eastern Ohio, and the Panhandle of W.Va.
If anybody out there is interested would you please PM me and include your location.

I would also like to thank The Indy Admirals for a great weekend, even though my fleet had problems.I had a great time and learned a lot.

    Mike - grab your SC

Mike - grab your SC membership roster and do a shotgun email to everyone in your area. It's amazing how many guys reply. Set up a funrun/meeting, elect a contact person and backup man and submit your request to Myles for consideration for a new SubRon.

          Go for it TD!!
Only a very small percentage of the SC actually use the web site. I would send out emails or letters to the guys in your area like Tim said.
There is a guy in Erie that wanted to join the 8-balls but it is a long way for him and sadly I never followed up with him. (My Bad)
He owns a hobby shop too.
I will try and find his info. Maybe DonO still has it.
The hardest part is the logo!! CI and I were working on the same thing and did not know it.
It was a Do-Do Do-Do moment for sure!! Good luck! BD.

                  bring it on, jimmy boy

                  give it your best shot

and you DO realize this is all YOUR fault, right? if you guys would simply drive a little bit more west for your runs, maybe the pittsburgh crew could join you once in a while.

ive driven to camden (god help me), sayerville, gibbstown, and lord knows where else to hook up with you "east" guys.... i expect and demand to see that mini of yours cruise up our way sometime.

                    Erich, I can only begin

Erich, I can only begin to tell of all the years I trekked to Philly, Sayerville, Ft. Dix, Camden, Gibbstown etc every month for the SubComEast meets. When that era ended after some 15 years and it was time to find a new locale, can you really blame me for looking at venues closer to home?

That said, I assure you that as soon as you get something going over there I WILL be in attendance for support.

Beat on Frank Groza to come also, he's not that far away in Ohio.

                        How about tristate boomers! Eric,

How about tristate boomers! Eric, Mike and I talked about a meeting at a restaraunt perhaps in Canton,Oh so that those folks in Erie, Pittsburgh etc, would have a moderate drive. Say 1.5-2 hr for the meeting. Washington Pa was mentioned also, or we could have it in Cambridge . Matt Munger is on board also so Columbus is in the loop. St. Clairsville would be another option for a meeting say west texas or longhorn or melmans.
                        Just my thoughts,
                        Frank

                          I like SubRon Ohio Valley.

I like SubRon Ohio Valley. Don't forget that the museum subs USS COD (SS 224) and USS RENQUIN (SS 481) are in the general area; and might be a potential meeting location.

all those locations you mentioned are fine by me. im really not picky and dont mind a drive.

if we are all able to get together and discuss details, we should pick a date far enough in advance so that we may make arrangements (ie work related day-off requests)
