    GATO: Center-of-Gravity Location?

Hi all, I need some help. Where is the Center-of-Gravity point on a 1/48 scale Gato? I want to place the center of the ballast tank at the boats center-of-gravity.

For those of you that have a completed and running Gato, if you put a heavy shoe lace or line around the middle of the Gato and lifted the boat, where would that shoe lace be located when the boat is balanced fore and aft? This is what I would like to know.

And lastly, what is the water volume of your ballast tank?

Thank you for any help in this area.

    hey Tom, that shoe lace

hey Tom, that shoe lace will very ship to ship even in the same scale. I mounted my tank just fwd of center and trimmed the boat after mounting my tank. This is known as the cave man method, but this was the best running sub I ever had. Good luck with it. By the way, the volume of the tank I don't know, I eye-balled it.... Jeff
