You guys don't understand a pitch keepers true purpose. In a sub the pitch keep makes sure the sub in always level so as not to allow the pitcher of beer to spill....
Is it even Ready Yet?
The last time I checked, a few weeks ago, it was not ready to be sold.
You may want to check if it's actually been released before ordering, they may be just taking pre-release orders.
I Like my KMc ADF unit just fine .
I have used the older Subtech designs as well in the past and was happy with them as well
Unless you do a side too side comparision and own these 2 units ( or others ) you will get 1 persons opion or the other but the call is yours in the end .
Have more than 1 boat ? buy 1 of each and try them out for yourself make up your own mind .
AS stated ealier the units are cheaper and more reliable .

I was able to acquire a new Mike's SubWorks UPC-1, (Ultimate Pitch Control) shortly before this years SubRegatta. I installed it in my 1:12 Bruggen Delphin for this initial testing/trial/review. It replaced a still functional SubTech APC-3.
My first impression was in regard to how small it was (1" x 5/8"). This unit will fit in even the tightest confined dry space in our sub projects. A quick review of the included instructions reveal it's simplicity. Basically, mount it in the boat, level the boat, hit the button. Some slight added complexity would be such as ensuring orientation (long edge of unit parallel with c/l of boat and trailing edge of unit mimics trailing edge of control surface). All is thoroughly explained in the instruction sheet.
My second impression was the very noticeable improvement in operation and performance of my Delphin! Very very smooth. With a combination of speed and control surfaces giving the boat a high moment force, the UPC-1 was able to defeat the usual oscillations of pitch that usually accompanied running the Delphin: before, no matter how fast I ran it, it would yield slight pitch anomalies (the faster the speed, the greater the resultant pitch (porposing)). With the new UPC-1 installed, this aggravating little character flaw disappeared. Gone. She drove very smooth. Anyone who saw me running it last weekend might have wondered at the grin apparently stapled to my face.
The technical and programming improvements that have yielded a fantastic little device that I am sure will improve the performance and handling of any R/C Sub the UPC-1 is installed in. I recommend the UPC-1 without hesitation.
Wouldn't it be better to go right straight to the manufacturer for an answer? In the first place, who will know better the answer to that type of question? In the second place, this is a very new product so how many people are even aware of it let alone know how it works?
I'll admit that this used to drive me crazy when I owned SubTech. Who better to ask than the manufacturer?

I didn't know exactly who the manufacturer was and I didn't feel I was implying something was broken or wrong. I was just trying to understand the technical design philosophies in how a pitch controller was suppose to work. I deleted the post anyways, just in case I violated this forum's rules.

You weren't implying that anything was "broken or wrong." It's just that if there's a question concerning a vendor's product, who better to answer your question than the guy who makes it?
And you bought it from Mikessubworks, right?
