This person must have heard
This person must have heard of the very rare Seehund II Kleinboote.. This guy's boat looks like it is loosely based on this very late war project. Before the war ended, one prototype Seehund II had been completed. On 30 April, 1945, Martin Bormann and Dr. Ludwig Stumpfegger were planning to escape beseiged Berlin and travel to Kiel where the lone Seehund II prototype was waiting for them. They would then sail this little midget sub to Bergen, where in turn, they would board a Type XXI. The XXI that awaited their arrival was to set sail for Neuschwabenland, Antarctica.
Bormann and Stumpfegger, of course, never made it to Kiel and instead ended up committing suicide via cyanide capsule to avoid being captured by the Russians. Subsequently, with Bormann long over due for arrival, the Seehund II was destroyed at Kiel so that it would not fall into Allied hands. Some say the XXI that was awaiting their arrival did sail off to Neuschwabenland... Perhaps it is still there, somewhere, awaiting discovery...
The Seehund II was equipped with a mini-schnorkel system much like the XXIII. The hull shared the basic proven design of the Type VII so that it could be hurriedly fabricated during the final month of the war.

Guy's - do any of
Guy's - do any of you recall a small two man submarine Call a Perry "Cubmarine" this would be late 50's or early 60's The Cubmarine use to give rides ( for those who could afford them) Somewhere off the southern part of Fl. Keys. Well any way, this boat looks alot like those Cubmarines with a 1/3 scale Type V11 super structure welded on.... The glass port holes look to be 4 inches thick.
I'm sure we'll hear more about boat in the years to come,,,,,, Mike Dory
