Has anyone thought about trying to RC the trumpeter gato- 1/144th scale.
I thought about using microservos and motors from small rc helicopters.
Just looking for ideas.
apparently not. It must be possible, given other small sub conversions acrried out in the past. Somebody named Petn7 has done some pretty small stuff.
Personally I want to convert the Type II from Special Navy in 1/72.
I have the kit, but other projects take priority
(not to mention real live..)
Luckily kits do not have a best-before date
Steve Neill converted the Trumpeter Gato and posted some pics on Subpirates some time within the past year or so. So there is at least one person that has done it. If I recall correctly, he made his a dynamic diver though, not static.
Raalst, I was thinking about the Special Navy II and XXIII for conversions, but decided that in the end, for me personally, they would just be too small for the amount of money and effort invested in them to make them functional.
