I believe the word you want is "Revolutionary". A revolutionary development would be something like Art Broder's bladder system or putting video cameras on board R/C subs. . It's a new approach to a problem.

Evolutionary changes are smaller improvements on existing equipment or techniques, such as added channels to a radio system.

I think one of the big steps foward in recent years has been the introduction of solid state accelerometers for use with levellers.

Before they came along levellers tended to be a bit on the bulky side, which ruled out their use in very small boats.

Over ten years ago, SubTech started supplying what was known as the “Hybrid” system which started out as a gas system to be added to the Albacore kit. This allowed the use of the water pump (as opposed to the air pump on the “Snort” system) for regular use with gas being available for emergency use. The only difference therefore between the “Hybrid” system and the “Snort” system is that one pumps water while the other pumps air.

yours perhaps was the revolution - a new hybrid way of solving the BT problem...the snort is therefore IMO the evolution.

Thanks for pointing it out Tom.
