I think that your request
I think that your request will depend upon the time frame of your model. I believe that those boats first put to sea with power props like those on the Skipjacks. I would further guess that they were later given Scimatar wheels like most boats.

I knew you would jump
I knew you would jump on that one CI.
Don uses the five blade power prop on his Abe.
I bought him the Engel one for his birthday a few years back. The one that comes with the Patrick Henry kits now is very nice. You can buy the prop from them as a upgrade. Not sure what scale you are working in Dave. BD.sigpic"Eat your pudding Mr Land"

Patrick Henry - how about some suggestions
I would like to get some suggestions on what set up to use for this boat. I don't have the Engel tanks for it. The hull in only open (3")at the top except for the removable stern section. If you were doing this build what approach would you use:
Rcabs, reverse rcabs, WTC or multiple WTCs, bayonet style and cut the stern off. I would love to see some suggestions.

Hi Hampboats,

Hi Hampboats,
I have an Engels PatHen, that I converted to a wet hull, RCABS-R boat a few years ago. I second the vote for RCABS, or even better, and RCABS-R...mine has been flawless.
You can open the 3" wide access hatch by cutting about 1/4" from the lip of the hatch opening along each side. That will make it very easy to slide a 3 to 3 1/2" WTC inside. There is no need to cut the entire tail section off of the hull, just open up the rear bulkhead as needed, but be sure to remove the slab of ballast that is part of the original kit...you won't need it when the boat becomes a wet hull type, and your back will thank you.
I originally used the kit's stamped prop, then moved to a five blade, and then finally I have used an Engels seven blade scimitar for several years.
