time for a scratch build... anyone want one?

so its time i try a scratch build. if i do, id like to do something that perhaps some of you would also be interested in. if i do one worthy of release as a basic kit, it would be very reasonably priced. so i throw it up for a vote and to gauge any serious interest.

    here are my possible candidates:

    1/72 sturgeon
    1/72 la flt 3
    1/72 alfa
    1/96 lafayette
    1/72 lafayette (70 incher!)
    1/96 resolution class boomer

    1/96th Resolution is being released

1/96th Resolution is being released soon by Subtech (a reworked Ron Perrot hull, I believe). So you may wish to let that sway your decision.

        the sturgeon is being covered

the sturgeon is being covered aswell.
I would say a 1/72 LA but I am not sure how much interest you will get on these since they have all been covered I think....

Here's something different, how about Ethan Allen Class.
A bit like the Laff, I think the Laff was 425ft and the Ethan Allen was 410.

I have been given a Piping TAB for this boat, your welcome to it if you like. It has alot of detail you might find useful for a scratch build. I had been thinking of a scratch of this boat but currently cannot undertake the task.(lack of expirence)

I'll stick to kit assembly for the time being.

              my 2 cents.

                  Matt Thor is talking about

Matt Thor is talking about doing a 1/72 Flt-III LA presently in a limited run. His old Alfa kit was 1/72 but is no longer produced. And Brian Starkes is working on the 1/72 Sturgeon.

                    Don't worry about the Alfa.

Don't worry about the Alfa. One is n the works in 1/72 and 1/96. Accurate too.
I will throw my two cents in and call for a 1/96 Russian boomer again.
Delta IV or Typhoon. It would make for a large hull.

                        If one was thinking of

If one was thinking of doing a Typhoon I would go the other way and do 1/144 or smaller. All the Typhoon kits that have been produced except for a French kit I think are way to big to transport.
I think something of a more managable size would be nice, and still be a cool sized model. BD.

You are correct. I was thinking that was the French company.
I knew there was someone that makes one smaller. No one over here though. Actually only one from over here the old Copeland kit. At least all I can remember. BD.
