    My health

    Folks -

As you may know, I have been having heart issues for the last year or so. Up until now it has for the most part been under control, except for my blood pressure which is still problematic.

I just received word from my Dr. yesterday that I have recently had two or more transient ischemic attacks – which is the fancy term for mini-strokes. I will be seeing the neurologist and undergoing more tests.

With these health issues, I will be unable to complete my term as president which would normally be over Dec 31 of this year. I have tendered my resignation to the SC Executive Committee effective immediately.

    Respectfully,

    Tim Smalley

            General Health Issues

Tim, I'm very sorry to hear your health has become such an issue, preventing you from completing your term with the Sub Committee in the position you've filled so well. Your health is most definitely #1. I will keep you in my prayers, and wish you and your family all the best. Al,

              Tim,

Very sorry to hear of your health troubles and hope they can work on you and fix it. My cousin had to have some arteries grafted in going to brain and some stints put in other places. I don't remember what they call it and I hope you don't need anything that extensive. You have done a great job and it will be very hard to replace you. Thanks for all of your hard work and I wish you well.

                            Tim,

                            A speedy and full recovery

                            Tim,

A speedy and full recovery to you buddy. No one of us can ever thank you enough.

Just remember that though a presidential calling is admittedly tough work, the hobby itself remains about being fun. Thus, when the doctors tell you to "relax," you'll know exactly what to do.

See you (eventually) at the pond,
                            JeffP

                              I'm very sorry to hear

I'm very sorry to hear that, Tim. It is a sad way to end a SC presidential term, during which your enthusiasm and drive have done a lot to improve the SC as a whole.

Nevertheless, as has been stated in earlier posts, your health must always be your top priority. With the current state of medical science, I'm sure your physical health will be in good hands with your doctors. As for your mental health, our wonderful submarine hobby is still there for you if you feel the need to get away from it all. After all, giving up your Presidency does not have to mean giving up the hobby as well, does it?

Good luck, keep your spirits up and don't be a stranger to the SC!

                              Rob
