I plan to start weekly running a boat or two at Balboa Lake if anyone would care to join me.
Balboa lake is located in the LA Valley. It's a large city lake and has a designated RC, electric only boating area.
It can be a bit murky there as most public lakes are. But closer to shore you can see your boat a foot or so under pretty well last I checked.
Parking is close to the boating area.
I was running weekly at Hansen dam. Although a better lake over all it's just beyond that limit in terms of miles to drive for most if not all Sub drivers in the area. I was always the only sub driver out there. The rest is a hoard of targets, speed boats and sail boats.
When I went to Balboa at 10 pm on the last Thursday I was the only boat there. Had the place all to myself.
To take a look at the lake just type into google earth lake balboa.
