Centrifugal pump in pressurized ballast system

Can I use a centrifugal type pump on a pressurized ballast system?

The bottom line is, yes you can, but they won't work as well as a positive displacement pump, and they will probably fail after a time.

Well, I don't have experience with centrifugal pump but I have used some kinds of water ballast over the many years.
And they are still very much in use & yes they do in work.
