Nope!!
In this case the Lake Effect helped us. The water is to warm in the big lake to allow snow. How about you? It is about 36 outside now. High about 42 today. Windy all hell though!! BD.

Are you kidding? Ahahahahahah!!! It's an ugly, awful, stupid, horrible, wasteful, unhealthy, pathetic, uncomfortable, no lake zone, no fly zone, no go outside zone, nearly 100 degrees in the middle of fall here in LA!
In three words. I HATE IT!
6 months of this garbage weather being couped up inside makes me crazy.
Enjoy the snow. You see there's a reason me put meat in a freezer. SO IT DOESN'T ROT! We are meat. Constant heat just ages you quicker. Or is
that rot your body?
We always get snow up this end of the island at this time of year it just doesn't normally last ( which is means this week has been normal lol ). We will probably not see much snow until December but our worst for snow is always mid February to the end of March ( I still have nightmares of the time I had to take my Yamaha XJ600 motorbike back from Aberdeen in a blizzard..... 5hrs to go 44miles with my feet down onto the ice all the way..... thank god for air cooled engines lol )
We normally don't see any accumulation till mid December.
We get some earlier but it usually melts away.
In fact it is snowing now but it melts as soon as it hits the ground.
But that is living in Rochester NY. We like to say around here if you don't like the weather wait 5 minutes because it will change.
I am sure the 8-balls will back me up on that one. BD.

We got a dusting last night, woke up at my normal 9:00 am just in time for my favorite show"The Sapranos" and everything was white outside but it was gone by noon.I-80 is the snow line for us,I live about 20 mi. south but we still catch that lake affect that you were talking about.I know what you are talking about when you say the weather changes by the minute. When I was working I delivered many a load into Eastman Kodack and never knew what to expect in the winter 5 feet or 5 inches of the ugly white stuff. Also got snowed in many times on the Thruway between Buffalo and Albany,Its a bitch having to sleep in the truck for 2 or 3 days when the snow is deeper than the lower part of the windshield on a cabover.
By the way,I tried to locate one of those gift wrap containers that you told me about for a testing tank,no luck till the holidays. That was at Dollar General.
