    SCR1-31 CD Problem

I purchased the SCR1-31 CD a couple of months ago and have just found out that SCR issues1-10 are locked and I cannot print articles I would like to have hard copies of. SCR11-31 are NOT locked. May I get via email or CD copies of SCR1-10 that are NOT locked please?

    Thank you

    Hello Rick,

    I have just

    Hello Rick,

I have just printed out issue 1 from a CD here and had no problem. I am using the free version of Adobe Acrobat Reader. Not sure if your pdf reader is causing problems or not. It is odd that the other discs issues print though.

Do none of the 1 -15 issues print, or is it a few specific ones? What happens when you try to print? Does it start to print, or just inform you that printing is not allowed? Knowing this will help me troubleshoot the problem, and ensure that the disc I send you works perfectly for you.

The size of the files is too large for me to send via one email. I could send you a few specific issues to hold you over until you get the replacement disc. I will send you a tested replacement disc ASAP.

    Don

      Hi Don,

      The problem is with

      Hi Don,

The problem is with just issues 1 through 10. All other issues are ok. The problem is whoever saved the files LOCKED them with a password and prohibited printing of the file. This is not an Adobe problem, it's a "permissions" problem. When I attempt to print the file I get a message saying that printing is not allowed.

Could I ask you if you could make a new CD for me with issues 1-10 unlocked. If your files are not locked then you could put them on a CD for me. I would be glad to pay the expense.

      Thanks,

        I just emailed you with

I just emailed you with the results of my investigation. I can not change the lock permissions on the files to allow Issues 5 - 10 to print. Issues 1- 4 should be okay, as the lock only prevents edit or copying of the file.

We will get this figured out. Thanks for the heads up and for being patient while we work out the bugs.

          I just sent a message

I just sent a message to Lyle Jansma who did the original scans to see if he remembers the password so we can get it unlocked.

Thanks for the CD fix, but . . .

            Hi Don and Tim,

Got the updated CD that fixes the print problem on issues 5-10. Thanks for your efforts. However, I still need Issues 1 through 4. They are locked also.

              CD issue

That is odd. The copy I have here didn't have 1 - 4 locked for printing, in fact I printed out Issue 1 with no problem. Those issues do have some locks against copying and editing, but printing was allowed.

I will check it out and send those files to you.

                My Bad

Sorry for being an alarmist. I just successfully printed the first pages of Issues 1-4. I saw the Lock and "Ass-u-me-d" they wouldn't print. Thanks again to you and Tim.
