A Misconception by the SC Candidates?

Reading the replies to questions asked of the candidates for SC office, I get the feeling that there is a big misconception about the SubCommittee in its creation.

In the interviews, there seems to be a unanimous opinion that the SC exists only for the sole purpose of R/C submarine modelers as none of the candidates even mentioned "Static" modeling or even "Submarine History".

The reason that I joined the SC years ago was my interest in submarine history and modeling (not of the R/C kind). Going in, I figured that it would be heavy on the R/C stuff, no problem, there was enough history and modeling facts to keep me from wanting to miss the next issue.

I sincerly hope that the candidates are not of a 100% R/C mindset and do indeed have other peoples interests in mind. It is just that it didn't come off that way in the interviews.
