    Well I'll be damned, ......

Well I'll be damned, ...... there IS a benefit to living in a climate that is sub zero degrees for 3/4 of the year. I've been waiting for this day of discovery for a long time.

FOAM GALORE at Canadian Home Depot stores.

      LOL, glad I could make

LOL, glad I could make you feel better Mylo!! Did I mention it will reach nearly 80 degrees here tomorrow? Well I had to postpone my foam search for a bit to do some home improvement stuff but I just had an idea:

Can the expanding foam that comes in a spray can be used? I saw some in home depot. Might be a tad messy at first. Anyone try cutting or sanding this stuff before? I didnt look at the cost yet. Might be too expensive to try.

Thanks for all the posts so far,

      Robert

        Merriman has denounced the Crazy

Merriman has denounced the Crazy Foam/ Great Stuff as it compresses at depth, altering the buoyancy of the boat.

I liked the idea it could be molded around stuff like batteries by just wrapping them with Gladwrap. I found the cell structure was rather open after it had been trimmed and tended to look messy.

I guess someone will have to give it a shot.

          I can confirm that warm

I can confirm that warm weather places do not carry it. I live in Arizona, and they did carry it at a time as I used to buy it, but then my stash had ran out and I went again, and all I could find was stuff that was about an inch thick with these grooves in it. It worked for that project. I went back about a year or so later and they no longer had anything. I have called some local insulation shops and have found it, but typically they have to have it shipped in.
