I can't understand him but he does a great job on this U-boat.
Pretty neat video

Very good! I have posted both of them here to make it a little easier for members to see. A nice look at painting and weathering with an airbrush.

I noticed that he and
I noticed that he and the other model builders on that site build from the box without washing the parts or even wet/dry sanding the paint. I always washed parts and then sanded everything with 000 steel wool pads to get the molding residue off so the paint would stick. Is that still the way most everyone does it? They have a whole series of boats, tanks, cars. Real artists these guys are. Much more talent than I have.

It takes longer to write
It takes longer to write it than do it ----
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Open the You Tube video you want.
Then go to the URL in your Internet Explorer window way at the top of your screen and copy the link (it looks something like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0w5zMgsT5I)
Then come to the SubCommittee forum.
Just click once on "YouTube It!". Then copy and paste the link you copied on You Tube.
Then click the "You Tube It" button one more time.
Voila! When you preview your message, you'll see a window like you see below. Click on the arrow to start the show! Easy as cake.
I encourage you to put your videos on You Tube - that way there will be more RC sub videos on You Tube and more guys will be made aware of the hobby in general and the SubCommittee in particular!

Well I'll be. I never noticed that. Boy I bet that thing burns up the juice. Sounds like a Mopar starter.

I think they just edited the washing/sanding steps for the sake of a shorter video. i'm almost certain they do follow those steps.

Mylo, you still have any of them beat. That U-boat of yours is fantastic. Did you photo the whole process of your build? Would love to see it.

I'm sure you're right. Instead of primer does he just use black for the undercoat? I was kind of confused about that part.

Casey,
I might be able
Casey,
I might be able to shape foam and MDF, but I'm not as slick as that guy with an airbrush. I like how he handles the model while he's doing work to it, slung on his shoulder....never seen a technique quite like that. I'll just bet he's fast too, makes it look pretty easy.
I have close to 500 photos of my build, most of them are posted on my build thread.
