I have been looking on the net for a place to buy one of these 7 bladed scimitar props but can't find one that accepts credit cards (paypal doesn't work for me - tried many times).
Anybody know where I can get one of these Raboesch brass props? Thanks.
You bet!
I have weathered and rusted her since this shot was taken. I have noted in sea-trials that the model handles sluggishly underwater. A "bow planes only" setup makes for poor diving and surfacing response. In fact, if I dive at too steep of an angle, I can't level out without blowing the ballast tanks. With a flooded ballast tank she just keeps going down - even with the planes set at hard rise. May have been one of the causes of the prototype's demise?
Nice pic! Thanks. That might explain why they lost so many crews in testing. I've been trying to keep up with the recovery of the real one. Do you have any weathered overall pics?
