    Assembling a counter-rotating gearbox

    Hi Tim,

Can you tell me which issue has the article about assembling a counter-rotating gearbox?

    Thanks,

        We worked on a best

We worked on a best price for all.
Going this route went from, as Tim said, $232.00 plus shipping, to $99.00.
We are going with the best price for our members, and not charging extra to non members.
Wouldn't want to discourage someone from being a member by charging more for back issues, right?
We want to encourage anyone interested to join.
Also, this was a format many wanted. I am pleased it came to pass, with a lot of behind-the-scenes work by the executive committee.
        Good work guys!

            Old issues on CD

Just wanted to clarify something for this transaction; and for any other Subcommittee transactions with checks or money orders.

As much as I love folks giving me money; I would really appreciate it if you would make them payable to the "Subcommittee" instead.

It makes my life easier when I just have to stamp them with the Subcommittee name, and send them on to the Treasurer, Bill Vanderslice.

BTW: I'm the Membership Chairman, not the Treasurer Tim! One job is enough.

              Just for curiosity sake, how

Just for curiosity sake, how many of the magazine copies of the first
              31 issues are left?
Do you keep printing them or do you just have a surplus?
Where do you store them? (on top of the frige)
About how many magazines are sold each year?

This sounds like a great deal to me. (unpaid endorsement )
Seven and three quater years of subscription for the price of
              two years of membership.

Another question has SC had any thoughts of having a position of
Merchant for SC products? (hats patches shirts
              etc....) (merchant marine )

I have had these questions for awhile? If I don't get any answers at
least I will still have my question.

                The backlog of old mags

The backlog of old mags in Don's garage rafters varies - he said there are a number of issues where there is only one copy left - he uses those to have Xeroxes made and that is what he sends out. It's getting very costly to have photocopies made, collated and stapled - that's one of the reason we had the PDF scans done.

We have toyed with having some sort of SC gear for sale, but in the past when that was tried, it has been expensive to have a stock of items on hand in various sizes (we have members from XS to XXXXL sizes) and designs/colors, etc.

There is one on line outfit that you can set up a store and they will handle making the items one at a time, shipping, money, etc. I had a couple of shirts made as an experiment, but the quality isn't that good. They use a heat press process that adheres a sticky logo to the shirt/hat/etc, but it doesn't really have the kind of quality we'd like to see represent the club. Their Coffee mugs and some other "hard" items are very nice though.

The shirt ladies from Celestial Designs that were at SubRegatta 2006 will take individual orders over the Internet and they do beautiful embroidery. They have a couple of different versions of the SubCommittee logo so be sure you ask for the right one. They aren't cheap (quality costs $$$.) Thanks for the answers. http://www.subcommittee.com/forum/icon_cool.gif

Thanks for the answers. It helps me fill in the blanks
as to why things are done a particular way.

Maybe as subregatta attendes are sending in for there
name badges they might send in a order for a shirt or
hat; and the appropriate donation (cost) of the item.
Pre-Paid goodies. Might reduce the price and solve
overstock problems. Add a fifty-cent fundraiser charge
                  for the subregatta.

How about a subron patch swapping/selling fund raiser
                  for the Regatta expenses.

Boy this guy does alot of talking but no action.

Remeber this thread is about purchasing back issues of
                  SC reports.
