I haven't had the problem at all. I did not build a kit (scratch builder) but you can simply buy drills in every size you'd like (in steps of 0,1mm) at a good hardware shop.
Even if you don't round off. 2.3 or 2.5mm is not much of a difference anyway IMHO.
