Just got a new Harbor Freight catalog today. They have their standard 7" x 10" mini lathe on sale for $329. Throw in a 15% off coupon and it could be had for $279. When I got mine, there was no sales tax required and shipping was included in the purchase price.
They also have a model I have not seen before. It is a 4" x 5" micro lathe for $259.
Mylo you might want to try Web machinery they have some nice lathes.
they are made in Taiwan. i have had an up close look at these lathes
and are very nice, reasonably priced, well built with no sloppy backlash like the stuff from habor fright. if you can do a search for the Machine&industrial shows you can get a good look at some of these machines. most are eye candy and way out of our price range (500 to well over a $mill!!) but there are some small time guys as well some guys that sell used lathes at good prices. have a look around& good hunting
