    At a shade under 2

At a shade under 2 metres long, my 1/45 scale Type IX D2 U-861 is running sweet and true and turning heads at the club lake.

      Cap't Burgess,
      I am heartened

      Cap't Burgess,
I am heartened to see your boomer progect continuing. Further it appears that the Sea Witch has been operating in shoal waters of late. Perhaps reflecting on littoral duties?
The Jimmy Carter is seaching for a polynya thru which to surface, until then she stays low.
Would like much to compare notes.

I've got a 48th scale IJN Type "B" on the shelf, and my 1/50 Upholder/Victoria Class will be done this Spring (hopefully).

I've got a 1/48 Gato hull that I have been procrastinating turning into a working RC sub. It will be fun to have a big model!

Wow! What a beast! That's really an impressive boat. Love the way you rendered the raised hull treatment. The algae looks good BTW.

What does she weigh in at? And thanks!

                          Paul,
Thanks, you are very kind. I hope to apply the hull treatment to the Tordedoe tubes as well. Just haven't figured out how yet. One step at as time.
As near as I can figure she weighs in at between 80 and 100 lbs. dry. wet is another matter. Iuse a garden cart to launch and retreive, sort of a floating drydock on wheels.
