Hello Group ,

I recently posted new photos of my new gear drive unit
named Mod 02 Gear Drive . I have modified this unit 3 times
to make a better unit . This unit can be taken apart down
to the basic parts ....
I posted a photo of a Gear Drive unit in the new products
section of our message board , that unit is Mod 01 .

I have plans to make the gear drive housing out of plastic .
However I am not to sure this is a good ideal , so if you have
any input ? Please respond to this message .

Do you mean plastic as in plexi-glass or resin?

Resin would be more ideal I would think. It would be a lot hole lot simpler. Once the master is made, all there is to do i mold and cast it. After that, only minor cleaning of the casting and inserting any bushing, gears, shafts and what not.

Yes I was thinking

Yes I was thinking about making the housing using a mold
and plastic resin .
I am still making each unit out of Brass sheet right now .
The brass sheet is .030" thick which makes a real nice unit .
And so far this seems to be preferred by anyone that buys
a unit .....
