    Otw Upholder

    Hi all

Well i finally made up my mind and have purchased an otw upholder.

Does anyone have any suggestions on working periscope etc?

Also is it possible to have a antenna protruding from wtc or possibly as part of the mast's on cooning tower?

    Thanks adam

    Adam, "Yes" is the correct

Adam, "Yes" is the correct answer to both of your questions. Scopes can be electrical, Hydralic or simply just have a float under them so as you dive the scopes extened. What system you choose depends a lot on the size of your model and where you run the boat Example, Electrical systems do not work well in pools due to the presents of chemicals that will short them out in a short period of time. Hydralic systems require an additional reversiable pump and associated pluming. AKA the need for extra space in your boat. As for external ant. In your hobby shop, go to the gray Plexstruct display, there you will find a white plastic covered wire
in several differnt sizes. about 8 to 10 inches in length. cut this length from your ant. and solder the two together, cover with heat shrink and run it up into a short price of brass tubing that you had mounted on your conning tower For many years I ran in salt water, as long as you could keep two inches of your ant. wire out of the water, you were good to go.

      Thanks mike.

      I was planning on

      Thanks mike.

I was planning on possibly using a servo outside the wtc for operating the periscope etc.

Futaba 3014 as i'm led to believe that this unit is waterproof.

Does anyone on here have perhaps a diagram of a system that i could use in upholder?

      Thanks and best regards
