    HELP, with battery's PLEASE !!!!!!!!

    hey guys,
Heres my problem, my original radio batts are shot. ?? Until I can get the original 1.2 volts cells from somewhere, can I use the Duracell alcaline non rechargable 1.5 V batts as replacements. I want to replace both the 8 batts in the TX and 4 batts in the RX with these until I can get new ones. The reason for asking is I don't know if the 1.5 V will hurt my RC gear , when in fact the normal cells used are 1.2 V.
    Thanks in advance................ JEFF JONES

    Some servos don't like 6

Some servos don't like 6 volts booted up them, as the IC's are usually designed to run off a maximum of 5.5 volts, so you'll have to suck it and see.

I always use BEC's for my receivers.

      You should be fine with

You should be fine with 1.5v AA's . My radio battery packs made up of 1.2v rechargable cells are always around 1.4v when fully charged and under moderate load & you'll be hard pushed to find a 1.5v dry cell that will give you the full voltage under load.

        Thanks alot guys,
I did have 2 BEVR's from SubTech, didn't think of using these, but just wired one in with the 4 AA's in the boat for the RX. This should work for now, trying to get something ready to run for subron6's fun run next weekend in Carmel. Been away form the sub hobby for almost 2 years and finally getting back to it. thanks alot. Jeff Jones

          Errrrrrrrr...
Someone please take me out behind the wood pile, and beat me with a LOG!!! As I was setting this sub back up to run, (type IIc 1/32nd) radio, servo linkage, battery stuff, it occured to me to use the frek'in BEVR on the 12 V drive batt and not the 4 AA's,, E-gads, Now all I have to do is add enough lead to make up for the 4 AA's I am taking out!!! been away , way too long....... Well anyway, should be ready for the water again sometime tomorrow. thanks for the help and advice. Jeff Jones

            Jeff - If you change

Jeff - If you change the value of one of the resistors on the Sub-tec BE'vers slightly, it will come out at 6 volts. If your using Hi-tec servos, they will give you about 20% more torque, should you need if over the 4.8 to 5 volts that you get other wise. I use this all the time in some my boats . Best Wishes Mike
