The sonar windows are painted in a brighter red than the rest of the hull which is more red-brown. One of the possible reasons IMO are these:
1) they want to have a distinct color to avoid damage to the fragile sonar covers (in fact there are white marks on the hull to prevent tug boats to touch those areas)
2) The anechoic tiling is basically black rubber while the sonar windows are likely light greay composite material. When painted over with the hull red one the later looks lighter than the former.
I'm searching photos of the Akula since a lot of time, to achieve information to decorate my scratch "Vepr" 1/68 scale, also in russian webs, and I can say, that all the photos of all types of russian submarines I seed in the drydock, are the same scheme of colours. Red or similar for the lower midle of the hull, and black for the upper. I'm agree with the explanations about the difference of the shades. I seed too that there are a different shade in the black, upper and lower of the waterline, caused by the water effects.
I post some pictures of Akula-II Vepr and Guepard, (note the Guepard has the bulb more little than Vepr, is an important difference). Also Akulas Improved and another types.
