    Dutch M1

    Hello

Currently I decided to advance with the construction of the Dutch Navy M 1 (German Navy UC I) but I´m in great difficulties on finding the plans, I have been making a exhausting search in the Internet, contacting museums and other modelers without success.

Someone can point me in the right direction to find or if anyone does have this plans can make me a copy, I pay what it will be necessary, all the costs since this has been a desperate search.

    Thanks

            try contacting the dutch navy

use the email button and explain what you want.

they have drawings published for model builders, but M1 (was UC8, not UC 1) is not part of that list. I know that they do keep drawings (microfilm) of all boats and this one might ( ) be declassified.

they will need to photocopy (this might screw up the scale of the drawings) and since that is manual labor it might cost you.

let me know if I can be of assistance.

              I was browsing a bit

I was browsing a bit and I now have confirmation that there are drawings of the M1 available.

              please follow this link

              then select the word "INVENTARIS".
This opens a pdf, and the M1 is described at page
              76 at the bottom.

these numbers might help you ordering the right drawings.

              I'll translate for you :
2361 : general picture, side view
2362-3 : general plan (not sure what aanzicht
means, maybe this are the other views)
2364 : lines and ribs (this is probably the drawing
you need to create the model)
2365 : overall sections (probably less usable for the model builder)
2366 : theoretical drawings (? probably displacement graphs etc.)
2367-9 : general plan of vents, pipes etc.

good hunting ! remember to get a quote before
ordering. copying microfiche can be tedious.

btw, I once saw that they also have the plans of the (John) Holland submarine (O-01). as well as
              T-class boats (o.a. O-29, aka Zwaardvisch, ex-Talent, and O-28, tijgerhaai, ex Tarn)

That is really useful information, thanks

Meanwhile today I received a message from Fred Huijgen with a few photos of the original plans, that probably is sufficient for what I need.

I have to thank to all of you that tried to help me searching and advising.

                  Also this fastidious search let

Also this fastidious search let me now some modelers worldwide, that was a plus.

Also in the event of not finding the plans I ordered few days ago one hull of the M1 from Mario Poller, now the plans will serve to add all the details that photos don´t show, not the initial purpose but will work for the same end.
