    Radio fo Engel Lafayette

I intend to pull my Engel Lafayette out of the closet and begin to build it. May I please have some comments on what the state of the art radio would be for it.
    Thanks,

    John,
    I am in the process

    John,
I am in the process of building an Engel Lafayette myself!
I cannot help you with a radio recommendation....I picked up a 6 channel Airtronics (600 series) but I am a bit sorry I did. It may be just fine, but seeing some of the top shelf systems out their make me sorry I did not hold off awhile before I purchased.

When you have the kit laid out & studied it thoroughly....I would like to share some pointers with you before you start building!

Perhaps we can post a build thread & both contribute to it!
    Good Luck

      Any surface frequency four channel

Any surface frequency four channel radio will suffice.

A couple of extra channels are a nice luxury, which will allow you to add additional functions at a later date should you wish to.

        Thank you Steve and Andy.

Thank you Steve and Andy. Andy, I always admire your Nautilus logo.
I am a gadget guy and especially so in electronics/communications. I'd like to identify a state of the art candidate for the radio.
        Thanks,

          Well if you want bells

Well if you want bells and whistles, look here-

          贵州科艺是一家专业从事贵阳环氧地坪漆、贵州环氧地坪漆生产、销售、施工于一体的厂家。电话:18984871561

Hope you have deep pockets, it ain't cheap.

I have a Robbe Futaba FC16 myself. It's a computer set, but quite a basic one by current standards. I'm happy.

BTW steer well clear of the new 2.4Ghz sets, they don't work well with subs.

I thought the surface RC frequency for the UK was 40mh. Am I completely wrong then Andy.

              40mhz and 27mhz are surface

40mhz and 27mhz are surface legal frequencies in the UK.

2.4GHZ is the new boy, and is based I think on mobile phone technology. It's not subject to the same limitations as more conventional equipment. i.e. there are no frequency bands or crystals to worry about, you just switch the thing on, and it finds it's own little bit of air space.

It's a great system, but unfortunately because the bandwidth is that much tighter, it doesn't penetrate the water so well, and thus is not a good bet for submarine modellers.

For aircraft and surface craft, this radio equipment looks like a good choice.

                Radios

                hi

a very good radio to try is the Polk 8 or 6 channel radios
and they are not that expensive.
