    DIY ESC

Im not sure if this is has been done in a previous SCR but I know there are some of you out there that know how to make one. Is there an existing article out there? If not there should be one. Why should we pay for them when we could make our own? Even a simple one could be a start.

    You will find a few

You will find a few fairly simple projects at http://www.stefanv.com/electronics/. I built a modified version once, but they are mainly designed for flight and I found mine unsatisfactory for sub use. Still, if you are looking to fool around with one.......

      As someone who likes to

As someone who likes to dabble with DIY electronics, I can tell you it isn't worth your while.

With an Mtroniks ESC retailing at under twenty quid, you really couldn't build it for any less.

A brushless ESC is still worth DIYing, as these are overpriced. However it's only a matter of time before they start to get cheap(er).

If you want to build it as a learning exercise, fair enough. however if you're hoping to save money, you may be disappointed.
