    Cheap ESC

    http://stores.ebay.com/RVMShop-Store_RC ... idZ2QQtZkm

Not a bad deal here. At my LHS this esc was 75.99. They also have some good deals on li-po batteries. Me and a couple other people have used them with success aswell.

Just wanted to pass on a good deal.

    Great ESC

I have used this esc now for some time and have found them to be very acceptable for the money. They do shut down at around 7 volts but that can be delt with. They are definatly watertight as I found out on a Sea Wolf by Robbe went down in 20ft plus water and was not recovered for 3 months later, the ESC still worked great!! I bet alot of ESCs get trashed in this hobby and that gets expensive, though rare in my boats.
I have since ordered 10 of them and are currently building an Engel Typhoon that will use 3 to 4 of these units not just for the main drive but for hydraulics aplications that you guys have got to check out!
By incorperating Lego robotics components and the good old syrenge a simple very cheap hydrulic system can be made and works very well and scale like.
So far I have made 2 independant mast platforms and missle door system that operate off one pump using a rotary selector valve, this valve can handle up to 6 seperate hydraulic circuits, Ill post some pics later in the building threads.
As for the ESC its good cheap and reliable but does have another item ,the start speed is fairly fast so a reduction in gearring would take care of that for large props. I ordered from this very same shop and had great service ,gettem!

      I've been using the Mtronics

I've been using the Mtronics Viper Marine20 for a while as per Big Dave's suggestion and they are nice. Very good low speed, reverse, and a 5 volt BEC at 1.2 amps I believe. http://www.mtroniks.net/ Here is the site. Take a look at speed controllers, marine. They claim to be water proof! I bought mine on Ebay at a great price from some place in Hong Kong i think. Programmable set points, delay reverse or not.
Here is some more info for you. I bought it from http://www.rcmart.com/ and paid $35.90 + $5.00 S+H. He kept listing them every few days so I bought 3 total, 1 at a time.

        I am using the Mtronics

I am using the Mtronics as well, very satisfied with the performance & cost. The cheaper ones have been impossible to find lately, thanks for the info on a supplier.

          I have just ordered a

I have just ordered a cheap ESC to try. It is F/R good for 30 amps and only $19.95. I figured at that price I would order one and give it a test. When it comes I will report on how I made out and where I purchased it. BD.

            The ESC came the other

The ESC came the other day and I was able to do a few tests. It has a good linear throttle response, and the low speed is not bad. I would say it is better than some I have tested costing more money. It is made for a 6-cell 7.2-volt battery pack and handles 30 amps. The size is 1.68x1.09x.6 so it is a nice size. It is made by Cen Racing. I purchased mine from www.offshoreelectrics.com for about $20. Once I get it in a boat I will do some more testing. So far if you are on a budget and the specs meet your needs it's hard to beat. BD.
