Need help in identifing object on conning tower

Can anyone tell me what they think this is on the port side of the conning tower of a Type II sub. It looks like it might be about 5-6 inches in diameter. Based on its size and location, I dont think its a UZO but let me know what you think. Thanks

    sure looks like some sort

sure looks like some sort of aiming device... are those binoculars, or binocular mounts on the top? got a better shot of the whole device, or where it's situated on the conning tower?

      I guess this is vesikko

I guess this is vesikko ? I do not know any other Type II boat
      preserved.

Vom Original zum Modell "type II" contains a plan of Vesikko (page 78 ),
and it has a corresponding exhaust of some sort drawn
about where I guess your artifact is.

        Ronald beat me to it.....I

Ronald beat me to it.....I wasn't sure if it was some sort of exhaust valve manifold given the handwheel at top or an aerial housing that was reconfigured (possibly after the war).

The CV707 (Vesikko) is technically a precursor to the Type II class....but essentially the same. The Type IIB, the U-7, has what looks like a rod antenna in that location.....port side aft on the conning tower.
