    Britt,

I'll have to get the lo down from you on how to build / install / mount that transducer. Basically a microphone in reverse... that listens...if I understand my electronics.

......HIGH SPEED SCREWS !!..............50 DEGREES !!

    Yep, very cool.

How about posting a little "how to" thread. I'm quite sure I'm not the only guy who would be interested.

It's super simple, this is how I did it. Get a FM wireless transmitter from Radio Shack, I got the "You assemble it yourslef." kit version. Install it into a watertight box with the wire leads connected to brass studs which act as electrical pass throughs. Run the power wire to your power source and your mic wires to your home made transducer. The transducer is basically the kit mic, an old plastic pill bottle cut down to resemble a cup that's 1 1/2" tall, and silicone. Drill out two small holes for the wires to pass through in the end of the pill bottle/ cup and install the mic. Before the mic enters the cup, put a drop of silicone on the back of the mic and seat it to the bottom of the cup. Coat the outside of the cup bottom and sides and let it cure. After it's cured, add connectors to the wires and decide on the best place to install the transducer inside the hull. You will want it as far away from the motor and drive shaft as you can get it. Same goes for the speed controller. These devices are the biggest noise producing items on your sub and you will hear them when your underway. When you stop, your speed controller will sometimes whine too if it's not completely in neutral. Silicone the open side of the cup of the transducer to the hull. Make sure it doesn't leak. Connect the wires, turn it on and tune it in on your favorite FM radio. Be sure to run your antenna high in your hull and CA the ends of all of the wires to help keep moisture out. If you have a sub which has a deck mounted sonar dome, you could mount the transducer there or maybe in the sail if you wish. I feel it would work better mounted outside of the main hull than inside like I did.

            All is well old friend,

All is well old friend, glad to see you. Wecome aboard! If I recall, you have got around 5 or 6, 1/48 one off scale subs. I seem to recall a Alfa and a Ben Franklin class too, I'm I close?
