SubCommittee Report - March 2007 - Now Available!

    Folks,

I am very pleased to be able to announce that the March 2007 issue of the SubCommittee Report is now in the mail.

This issue also marks a transition.

I’m very pleased to be able to announce that Pete Piekarski has stepped forward to be the new managing editor for the SCR. Pete comes to this job with excellent credentials….both personal and professional. He is a professional artist and has worked as a designer, art director and creative director in advertising for 20 years. Pete has been art directing for Volkswagen Driver Magazine, the VW owners' publication, and Destination Success Magazine for Freightliner Trucks for the past three years. Pete has been a member of the SubCommittee for the past five years and built his first two sub models and WTC from scratch.

I think he’ll fit in quite nicely!

During the production of the March issue, Pete has shadowed me as I worked to get the issue pulled together and out to the membership. For the next issue Pete will be taking the reigns directly and I’ll step aside and serve in the role of consultant as he puts together the June issue. Based on Pete’s background, I have no doubt that the SCR is in excellent hands. He has already contributed to the ongoing effort to update and redesign the look and feel of our favorite magazine and I know that he will continue to do so once he settles into his new responsibilities.

...now I really don't have any excuse for not getting my Type II U-boat ready for this year's SubRegatta!

    -many thanks,

    Jeff

Once again Jeff- welcome back to retirement.

Thanks for all you have done in keeping the magazine the beautiful piece of work that it is.

If this site didn't have such stupid emoticons, there'd be a row of "handclaps" where this print is located...

        cheers,
        Sam

Let's hope that three times the charm!

I already managed to get some of the milling work done on my Type II hull today.

Fair weather and following winds to Jeff. I'm trying to say thanks for the hard work and happy modeling.
And to Pete, "keep a sharp weather eye out, and bring us that horizon".
                  Welcome to the frey (job).

                    Many thanks, Scott.

                    Of course now

                    Many thanks, Scott.

Of course now I need to make good on some of those commitments that I've made to get some SCR articles written and to get my Type II running.

.....so you haven't gotten rid of me yet!

                            Got mine today ....

Got my copy today and once again, spent three-hours with the wife griping about me not putting it down until dinner. Great issue and I have one thing to say about the new membership list ... WELCOME to the two new members of the Arizona group who live in Arkansas. Now we have a real sub we can include in the Cactus Navy since Arkansas is now part of Arizona (HeeHeeHee).
