For some of you who were at the Winter Fun run in Indy know that my Cv-707 sub didn't have enough ballast so I added some but putting some pool water into the WTC. After that fun event, I took everything apart. Cleaned the servos, checked everything out and all worked well but the speed controller. My M'Tronik's waterproof speedcontroler. I even stated that I put the SC at the lowest point in the WTC because after all, it is waterproof. I had it fused, I did everthing I was supposed to, so why did everything else survive but the SC. Like a good consumer, I put the fault on the product. After some discussion with fellow club mates, I decided to check the fuse. The Auto reset fuse checked out fine. After I took it apart, I found that it to had been full of water. So Watson, what happened? I believe that the high chlorine water caused a short across a motor terminal or something, the SC said to the fuse" hey how about a little help" the fuse did what it was supposed to do, it opened up, but it was full of water, and said" sorry Charlie, not today". The SC fryed. The auto reset function is a good idea but it to fell victim to electricity and water don't mix. At least thats my theory.
