VIIC attack periscope mount and UZO

Though very fine models overall, some of the disappointing parts of the 1:72 VIIC and VIIC/41 models are the attack periscope mount and the UZO (aiming binocular mount). Many had hoped that Revell would have added more details when they released the VIIC/41 kit, but no such luck.

Well, I just received my CMKN72004 set - Type VIIC Exterior Details no.1.
I got this set for the express purpose of their attack periscope mount and UZO... and was not disappointed! The set includes very finely cast resin pieces, and they even include turned aluminum periscopes!

I have taken a few pictures of the parts of this set, and also the instructions that come with it. I did a side-by-side comparison of the attack periscope mount from the Revell kit and from CMK set.

Just from first impressions alone, I highly recommend this set to anyone looking for more details of the tower pieces, 88mm deck gun, 20mm tower gun, etc..

Yes, the differences are quite pronounced, aren't they? The kit version is like a "quick and dirty" version without much attention taken to proper shape (or detail). I should put a side-by-side comparison of the UZO too... you'd laugh at the kit version if I did that.

Your new UZO also looks fab. I haven't taken my kit out of the plastic bags yet, I just savoured holding the hull parts together . (Saving myself from starting another build before all current projects are finished.)
