Wiring up a ADC-1 Automatic Depth Control

I have a brand new ADC-1 Automatic Depth Control unit from SubTech which I boogered both of the cables. I sniped off both connectors and now need to reattach.

The female connector goes to the receiver and the male connector goes to the servo. In my case, I am using this ciontrol unit to adjust the bow planes on a USS Permit.

When you open the control unit, both of the cable red leads go to one point on the PC board. In addition, both of the cable black leads go to another point on the PC board. So I can figure out those leads out OK. The problem is on the white leads. One white lead goes to a terminal on the IC and the other white lead goes directly to a resistor. The question is ,"Which white lead cable goes the receiver and the servo?

I would rather not guesstamate on the correct wiring hookup at this stage of my fragile RC sub career. I am sure there will be plenty to trouble shooting when I turn on the lights and I want to have one less headache to deal with.

    Thanks, Mike T

I assume there have no major board upgrades between one I have and the one you have... that said, it appears to me that the signal in (from rcv'r, male conn) terminates at the small resistor, the signal out (to female connector/servo) terminates under the sensor module.

    Hope this helps!!

Yup! That confirms what I was thinking, but I needed another second opinion. That's a bunch! Mike T

        Hi Mike,

Matt is correct, the white servo signal lead (pigtail with the female socket/connector) goes into the hole which links through to the chip pin and is located under the sensor.

The Rx signal lead (pigtail with male connector) goes to the hole next to the choke (it looks like a resistor, but actually its a choke!) and is located next to the wire link.

If you have any problems, let me know.

        Regards,

Dave, thanks for your help. I can now wire the ADC-1 with confidence that it is wired up properly!
