    SEAWOLF ESCAPE TRUNK HATCHES

Does anyone have any pictures of these hatch covers?
I would like to show any possible detail other than just the outline of the hatch. If not Seawolf-class, perhaps any shots of 688-class hatches would be a guide.
    Many thanks in advance,
    Kerry

    Kerry,
    They're flat. Just a couple

    Kerry,
They're flat. Just a couple of bolt holes and one hole to put a socket wrench in to open them from the outside.

When I was in Groton on the Nautilaus, I asked that very question of some of the sailors stationed to work at the museum. That's what they told me. I have not been able to find one close-up of an escape trunk hatch from either Seawolf or Virginia. Even on the pictures I got from Paul Doman the open hatches are covered with a tarp.

Look at the pictures of my Virginia on my SubmarineWorks website, that's the bolt pattern. I've got a handle on those, but it's not really there.

      Kerry, I've got some pretty

Kerry, I've got some pretty good drawings of the forward escape trunk on a Sturgeon. It should be pretty close to the 688 and Seawolf hatches. If you want it, email me at <<mkeatingss@cox.net>>. I'll email the scan of it to you.
