    New forum engine? How soon?

I'd like to start posting my scratch building threads again on Sc as well as SP. However the time it takes me to run my own forum and the time it takes to upload images to my server and post them here is not permitting these days for me.

So Jeff and Tim. When is the planned change over for a new forum engine? One that would allow for and easier go at uploading images?

As it is I either use my own server and can have larger images or use my SC home page for smaller but still very usable images.

Both take time to do through. Load images to the home page and then link them or to my own takes more time than clicking post image, load and go.

Just curious and the only reason I haven't started a new scratch building thread here.

Currently I working on the Washington class. Next the 212. The Blueback was missed all together at SC.

    Just curious.

I think we'll see more from a lot builders here when that happens. It's hard enough to find time for building let alone time to post. But these threads I think inspire new members and new builders to this fine hobby.

    Thanks a bunch,

    Hi Steve,

We've been running a testbed of the new forum for several weeks now, working on fine-tuning things....in particular the single sign-on between the forum and the main web site homepages. If we temporarily drop the single sign-on requirement, I think the new forum can be up and running in a matter of days......but that needs to be Tim's decision.

p.s. I'm looking to do something similar with my "U-boat pen"....

      Jeff,

Thanks a bunch. I think this will add some fire to both sites and a lot more pictorial building threads.

Looking forward to it and BTW. Outstanding job on the issue #66.
