Marlin Freeeing Ports - How to??

    Hello All,

I am looking for ideas about how to go about cutting out the freeing ports on the upper hull of the Marlin. I had originally though I would simply go down to the hardware store and pick up a punch.--Odd thing though, a 3/16"x1/8" hole punch does not seem to exist--not even online. Any ideas, other than the old drill and files, would be greatly appreciated.

    Try the old heated K&S

Try the old heated K&S tubing trick. Get a piece of K&S maybe 1/4" round and flatten it to an oval shape. Should be around 3/16"x1/8". Then put a slight edge on the tubing with a file. Heat the tubing with a small hobby torch. It will melt its way through the plastic. With practice it will give you a very nice hole. I use this a lot. Just practice on scrap first. I have a set of these made up in different sizes. BD.
