Scale lenght for a 688 Class boat? - What is the lenght for a 688?

I was looking at the Thordesign.com and ScaleShipYard.com Web sites. Both make a 688 hull in 1/96 scale. However, Matt lists his as being 45" long and Lee Lists his as 58" or 59" long. Who is right? Or are they both right? Were the 688 flight 2's made longer then the flight 1's? Or the flight 3's longer then the flight 2's?
Just wondering. ?

Sub is 360 feet. 1/96 model is 45" 1/72 model should be 60".
