    Thanks Tom!
    Those are some

    Thanks Tom!
Those are some good photographs of that place a few years ago. The subs and color work done in the side of the wall in the (second?) photograph are gone now. The interior shots were all done before it was gutted. It looks a lot different now. Even the displays in the nuclear storage room are gone. The periscope, and most everything else removable, are gone. A shame how quickly it fell apart and was cannabalized. Interestingly, the painting on the harbor side enterance was changed showing a Typhoon on it, even though the base was never anywhere near able to handle it.
The guide said up to 5,000 people. I am not sure on the difference, but it looked big enough for 5,000 tightly packed.
Now, it is pretty well open and loose. You can go where ever you want to in it. Nobody seems to be watching it.

Yea, watch my spelling on the harbor. Teachers were always after me on that. Thanks for the catch!
I will be back there again in a couple of weeks for more pictures.

There is an excellent resterant across the harbor from the subpen for seafood. Time a trip there just after dusk to eat. It was awsome!
