Yup this was first reported in the Fishing News International newspaper in December of 2005. The 52ft trawler Our Sarah Jayne from Whitstable , Kent spotted the sub on its Olex sonar display ( working thru a Simrad CA40 sounder ). This is a 3D high def sonar that lets fishing boats tow gear over very rough grounds , around wrecks, etc. The sub was sitting on the bottom in the middle of the Thames estuary in 131ft of water in the depest part of a bit of fishing grounds called the Kentish Knock. The sub measured 328ft ( 100m ) long and stood 30ft ( 9.1m) off the bottom.
The UK MOD have studied the image and they confirm its not one of the Royal Navy subs. Looks like a Kilo due to the absence of vertical tail at the stern but if the measurements are right way too big so any ideas ??

They went back the next day and it was gone so definately not a wreck.
