Libor,
That is very interesting to me as my family is from that part of the world. Is that all that is left of the base, are there any more chambers or rooms back in the mountain. It kind of looks like something from a "James Bond" movie. You could picture a SMERCH modified Type VII to come sailing out of there at any time.
Where would that be located on todays maps,Western Croatia or Serbia.I would like to dig into this a little more.
TD
TD, there are many interesting places in Europe. Many intentionally not described at all.
I just bought book Mediterranean Submarines]http://mc.multimap.com/cs/beu041//M74/Y21/M7400Y21300S500W700H400.gif[/img]
Libor,
Thankyou very much for the maps and information.Your information gives me a great starting point.
My family roots go back the the area northwest of Beograd, far from the coast,no likely involvment but you never no.It is great to know the area and culture as a starting piont for a project like I have thought about doing.I have been thinking about tracing the family roots back to the area that we are speaking of,as I`m 2nd generation in the USA and am very interested in the area.Everthing helps when your are on a mission.
Thanks again
TD
TD, you are welcomed.
Note the writing on the wall next to the entrance to the bunker; it says “Keep (this place) clean and tidy!†I find it quite on place like that. And do not forget to check Google Earth.
