    VP Leaving

    Got ya!!!
I am not about to leave the subcommittee. But, I have made some pretty big decisions to leave the USA for a while.
As many of you know, I just finished a book on Russian submarines. I had so much fun with it, I have decided to do another one. Since my ties here are not too inolved, I have decided to go overseas and work on the next book while I take a rest (suggested by my doctors).
As for the subcommittee, I will be here in the virtual world coninuing my position. Actually with more time to fine tune my duties.
I just wrote an article coming out in the Report this month. I did not know at the time, how profetic the last few words would be.
So, I will be pursuing submarine interests and hope to have something cool for you all later.

    Fair winds, Wayne! I wish

Fair winds, Wayne! I wish you a good journey and the best of luck across the ocean. I've been to Russia, and I know the beauty of the place that you'll be going.

For everyone else, I'd keep an eye on Wayne. There is sure to be some interesting stuff coming to us from over the waves in the next while!

        A clue.
        If you

        A clue.
If you ever had a chance to ask a Soviet submariner something, what would you ask?
E-mail me your questions. Do not post them here.
Would make a good second or third book, yes?
The first book is still tracking for around September release.
I am also trying to get a website up for it.
Also, I am thinking of posting pictures of this adventure from time to time somewhere for the interested. Kinda like where is Waldo. Your eccentric, roving VP overseas kind of thing.

"Where in the world is Wayne Frey?" with photos would be cool. Screw Matt Lauer. This is much better.

              For those who may be

For those who may be wondering, I am ok.
I am in the Ukraine for at least the winter. It seems one of the submariners I am to interview was on K-19. I am anxious to meet these guys!!! And already I have seen things that surprized me big time.
For a while, internet will be limited for me.But that will pass. Then I will be checking in here. Meanwhile, back to subs!!!!
And Kevin, I have found a Delta IV commander

                Wayne you could always nip

Wayne you could always nip over to Scotland and interview Vladimir Romanov ( the guy that owns Heart of Midlothian football club ) as he used to be onboard K-19 and has just bought whats left of her. He's back in Lithuania or Latvia on a regular basis so you could always Email the club with details of your book and you might get a tour thru whats left of K-19. He's making a museum out of her up in Moscow just now as far as I know.

                  Interesting!!!
                  I did not know

                  Interesting!!!
I did not know that. But, in truth, I will be staying in the Ukraine for the whole gig.Unless timing allows me stopping in France for the 2007 Russian Submariner's Club annual meeting. I could look up Antione. I would like that.
For now, back to the Russians and getting ready for the interviews..
Pictures will come of general trip stuff in a few weeks. I will keep everyone posted on what the ol expat VP is up to.
Kevin, have you painted that Oscar? Send me a picture please. Thor, I have seen video of that WWII Russian boat you are building. am trying to get a copy.

                    Hey Wayne!

No paint yet, but I did get a run in with an onboard camera fitted on top of the sail... (I'll get the grabs up somewhere.) I'm sad to say I don't imagine I'll get to paint her until the spring at this rate- I'm too busy getting all my ducks in order to pull out more OSCARs.

BTW - That's great news about the Delta IV skipper. Keep me posted on what you find!
