    Need Help With Electronics

I haven't run my Thor Permit since last summer so did a bench test before heading off to the pool yesterday. Good thing I did because the motor runs in one direction only. So I tested the output of the speed control (SC-20) and found no reverse polarity output to the motor. Before buying a new speed control, are there other tests I should run to verify the problem is the speed control?

    Turn off the sub and

Turn off the sub and the TX. Then turn on the TX. Then the sub. Make sure your trim for throttle is centered as is the gimbal for the throttle. Once both are on. Move the trim tab to the throttle forward 100%. You should here a relay click. Then move the trim tab all the way to reverse. You should hear another click. then back to center. You should be able to have smooth operation in both directions.

The SC-20 I have in one of my sub and ran into a similar situation. Except I had no forward or reverse.

The controller is very good and well made. I don't think it could go bad just sitting in place.

      Thanks Steve for the tip.

Thanks Steve for the tip. I tried it but it didn't work. I also tried cleaning the board with CRC contact cleaner. Still no luck so I'm going to replace the ESC.
