March SubCommittee Report - #64 Being Mailed!

    Folks,

I am pleased to be able to note that the much delayed March issue of the SubCommittee Report is being mailed as of today. Fellow members should begin seeing this issue in their mailboxes around the middle of next week.

...and the June issue is already being worked on. I'm trying to get this one as close to "on time" as possible.

        One thing that I forgot

One thing that I forgot to mention in my base posting.....

For our Canadian members, we have "upgraded" the postal class to be used to send the SCR to you. It is being sent at something analagous to first class in the U.S. I'm told that it is a 4-7 day delivery.

The SubCommitee will be footing the difference in postage rates for the 2006 membership year in order to understand how much this will cost. Once a better handle on costs is available, the EC will decide how best to make this upgraded delivery available permanentely.

Please let me know how delivery across Canada goes...it will help us to make that decision!

        -many thanks,

Jeff (Managing Editor pro tem, SCR)

          I want to thank you,

I want to thank you, Jeff, for taking the reins of the SCR. Carl was doing a bang-up job, but with his work-related obligations taking up his time, we were in bad need of some help. Thanks for stepping up to the plate.

Many thanks! The SCR is certainly recognized as one of, if not, *the* key things that makes the SubCommittee the organization that it is....and we've seen what happens when the magazine falls into production problems! I am hopeful that after this temporary period, that we'll have the job of the editor redefined to the point where it will be easier for someone to take over the reigns.

                Jeff,

                Just got my March issue

                Jeff,

Just got my March issue here in Texas. Nice job! You and Susan did a fantastic job to take over on short notice and get it out the door! My hat's off to you both!

BTW, I especially loved the stylish layout of the Martindale article...

                Well done!

                  Thanks for the nice comments

Thanks for the nice comments Carl. Jeff deserves a big Bravo Zulu for stepping back into the fray to bail the SC out - yet again.

Susan laid out that Martindale article plus tweaked some that were already done by us amateurs. She told me that after she did the U-Boat article she said she didn't think there there was so much to know about u-boats and her head was spinning. Just wait until she gets a chance to do a whole issue. She'll knock your sox off!

Got ours up here in Canada today, as did everyone else at the pond tonight (May 9th).
Looks like that 4 day delivery time is bang on target for us anyways.
                    Thanks Guys!

                      Hello,

I'd like to thank Carl for the time he has put in to the SCRs, and to Jeff for retaking the reins again. Also, I'd be obliged if someone can tell Susan that I really liked the layout of my U 47 article in the March issue. Sorry if it made her head spin!

                      Thanks,

                      Dougie Martindale
