Bill Marks surgery update - Bill Marks heart surgery

    Hi all,

As some of you may not know, Bill had a 5-way coronary bypass yesterday,
April 24, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital in New Hampshire. He was in
surgery for 7 hours, came through the procedure in great shape, and is
now in the ICU. He's still on the respirator and sedated as I write
this, but the ICU team expects to have him up and around by tomorrow.

He has tubes coming out of every orifice and is hooked up to many
    machines.
But his color is good and was so even right after the surgery, and this
morning when I arrived, he opened one eye about halfway and squeezed my
hand before going back to sleep.

I'll keep you all posted. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

    Love to you all,

    Pam

    Hello Group,

I received this email from Pam Marks today and then I called her to ask
for permission to post this information on the SubCommittee Ikon message
board. Pam told me that Bill will be in ICU for a few more days.
Pam will be sending me updates on Bill's progress and I will post the
updates here as I get them including a phone number if the doctors give
    an OK for phone calls.

    Check back for updates.

    I don't know Bill, but

I don't know Bill, but wish him all the best for a speedy recovery. I know several people who have gone through similar bypasses and had no problems. I'm in my 4th week with a busted shoulder. By the way ... tell him to ask his nurses if they're using the white throwaway blood pressure cuffs. I got some from my hospital and I think they'll work for RCABS bladders. They come in small, medium and large sizes. Y'all hear that!

      Thanks for letting us know,

Thanks for letting us know, Darle.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery Bill! Don't pinch too many nurses (only the cute ones).
