Just turned thirty !! You've barely reached puberty !

The thirties are a wonderful decade...your old enough to have a real sense of who you are, have probably got a good start on your chosen career, finished college and even graduate school (if thats part of your life plan)and have been around enough to avoid B.S. to a large extent. It's also about the time that women reach their sexual peak...all in all, a good decade.
I'm in my sixties, and their ALL good. Happy birthday, young man.

Do you remember vacuum tubes, bang-bang actuators, and batteries big enough to give you a hernia?
I'm well into my 70's and still have a lot to look forward to. Don't quite know what advancements the future will bring, but I hope to be able to enjoy them!

Well-said Jeff!!! Good friends and family, that is what’s important. I have found in all my years of being in the R/C hobby, especially in the model submarine side of the hobby many good friends. Ones that even though you only see them a few times a year don't even think twice about inviting you to stay at there home when in town. (Jim, Skip) Friends that are always willing to help. Lets face it, Sub modelers Rule!!!!! BD.

Well said BD!

Guys I'm feeling like the old guy here at 54. I know Art, you have me beat but you are an inspiration to those of us in our fifties that may think things are going down hill. They are not and you are proof of that. I look forward to the years ahead. Very much.

One thing I can say for sure. The poor losers in my age group I know, that have constantly over the years laughed behind my back about my model jets and subs, have no hobbies or passions. They think I should grow up. Well I think I look and feel pretty good. But those that do not have the passion for a hobby look and feel 20 years older than me.

Having a passion, a hobby and a better than good reason to get up in the morning is the thing keeping us all young. Those gears that turn at night while lying in bed about the next build and how you will accomplish it. It's like being a kid the night before Christmas almost every night I live. It's all about the wonder of taking raw materials and creating something directly from the mind's thoughts. And there it is sitting in front of you. What's next you say? And that is the key to long life.

Hi all, I've always enjoyed reading various posts to the board and while although not actively participating for the most part, I've learned much in one respect or another. However, I've found these past comments to be right on the money. There are great minds at work here at the sub committee both young and not so young, never the less they say you are as young as you feel. Let us all think and be young.
