    Rich,

I personally live in Ottawa, but have a cottage in the 1000 Islands near Clayton NY (on the Canadian side near Gananoque). Foxies restaurant is just a short boat ride away ...

To follow up on Ben's comments there are a number of events "North of the Border " over the summer. Less than an hour and a half or so from you that you would be welcome to join in.

          Not bring your boats

The St. Lawrence river has some of the clearest water out there .... this place should be infested with RC submarines.

It would be a crime not to bring your sub up.

I have dropped you a PM with my contact details.

            Now you did it!
I do not have a sub because there has never been anyone else near me to run with.

I posted a request for plans after I heard from you.

My USN boat is a scale 8' WW II Higgins 78' that I made into a Gunboat version long before I knew the crews were actually making them on their own.

It was my first scratchbuild attempt and it turned out great with a Cabinet Maker's help.

So much to learn about any class of ships.

Careful Ben don't let the cat out of the bag or we'll be infested with Subs. But Ben's right the clearity of the water is amazing, I can sit on my deck and watch the fish on the bottom for an amazing distance at my own cottage. Mind you I'm not on the St. Lawrence like Ben is. The neighbouring kids can hardly wait to get my sub out so they can swim with it.
Attached a photo of my MTB its based on the BPC- 71'6" used in the channel by the RCN.
